ASI MC-FORUM
Meteo and Climate exploitation of FORUM
MC-FORUM (Meteo and Climate exploitation of FORUM) is a two-year initiative funded by the Italian Space Agency (ASI), started at the end of Jan. 2024. Its primary objective is to develop new tools and expertise for harnessing data, which will be delivered by ESA EE9 FORUM, in meteorological and climate studies. The project will explore the impact of FORUM data across different spatio-temporal scales and various data assimilation techniques, encompassing both variational approaches and ensemble Kalman filter-like ones. Additionally, it will create tools for leveraging FORUM measurements in diagnostics and validation of global climate models, enabling the investigation of new parameterisations, and assessing the potential of FORUM in evaluating radiative forcings and climatic feedbacks.
